The new release of HP Configuration Management System (CMS) 10.20 is now available and introduces automated mapping of business services – simplifying and accelerating service modeling. CMS 10.20 includes new capabilities for both HP UCMDB and HP Universal Discovery (UD). The highlight of the release is automated service modeling (ASM) which improves the time and accuracy of business and application service modeling. ASM is very simple - initiated by submitting a url.

ASM adds new top-down discovery which complements HP’s best in class discovery and dependency mapping. Improving the effectiveness of IT change management process is a key use case – understanding risk of potential conflicts during approval and planning. New ASM capabilities also complement operations management (represented by HP’s BSM product lines) and faster incident and problem management.
