On October 22, HP announced Service Anywhere, our new SaaS Service
Desk. Service Anywhere takes the process designer concept that was introduced
in Service Manager 9.30 and extends it to all processes provided and also over
to forms, tables, and business rules. The net result is a complete set of
graphical codeless configuration tools that isolate user tailoring from the HP
code which in turn enables seamless upgrades.
Other capabilities include a simplified web 2.0 user
interface that includes social collaboration for agents or operators. A variety
of native and webservice based integration capabilities are provided including
with the HP UCMDB. HP Professional Services has a new HP Service Anywhere
Foundation Service that provides a fixed price, quick start service.
To try HP Service Anywhere in a shared environment, we’re
providing a "sandbox”. This goes live on November 16. You can get access to the
sandbox and find more information online at www.hpserviceanywhere.com.
Dedicated trial systems are available on-demand through HP sales and partners.
You can read the full press release. The latest news can typically be found on the HP
ITSM blog or by following twitter.com/hpitsm.
We’ll be demonstrating HP Service Anywhere at a series of
itSMF events world-wide this fall and at HP Discover in Frankfurt on December
4-6. And, there will be a Vivit webinar on December 12th.
