HPSW Support Customer Forums live!
HPSW
Support has launched new Support Customer Forums! These new forums are now live
for Service Manager, Network Node Manager, Project and Portfolio Management,
Functional Testing/QTP, and Quality Center and are located in the HP Software Solutions Community. The goal is to provide
customers who have a valid support contract, the opportunity to use a secure
environment to discuss technical issues, best practices and "how to"
type questions with other customers and with GSD Support Engineers. Meet the
experts recordings will be posted by engineers on a wide variety of product
topics. HP’s expert engineers will be actively monitoring these forums to
answer questions. Customers are encouraged to try this method of getting help
with product technical issues rather than placing a telephone call or logging
an online support ticket. For issues accessing these forums please send an
email to swcommunity@hp.com. Log in today and help
build this forum community!
In order to access the new ‘Support Customer Forums’ customers need to have
contract details uploaded onto their HP Passport account. To do this access Software Support Online, log in with HP Passport account details. Select
>> Edit your profile, select >> Edit system handle/(SAIDs), input
contract identifier (SAID), select Add, contract details have now been updated
and access will be given to the new ‘Support Customer Forums’ located in the HP Software Solutions Community.
Major insurance company case study - HP Diagnostics and
HP Software Premier Support
A major U.S. insurance company implemented HP Diagnostics
software first within its performance testing environment, and later within its
production environment, to drive visibility into events and enable improved
analysis and diagnostics. The software, which is backed by HP Software Premier
Support, has allowed the insurer to avert major production system outages that
would have otherwise impacted its customers and agents, including one issue
that a SWAT team was previously unable to resolve after three weeks of trying.
Because the HP Diagnostics probe data is stored in a single, centralized
repository, it enables not only visibility but transparency, helping prevent
"blame games” about events. And because the insurer has deployed HP Diagnostics
in both its test and production environments, it can better understand
differences between production builds and performance testing builds that
affect application performance. Read more.
Monitoring your servers,
storage, databases? But not your applications? Shouldn’t you be?
Yes, all too often, IT
departments focus solely on monitoring infrastructure like servers, network
devices, and web app servers. But isn’t it equally important to be
monitoring your mission-critical applications also? HP would like to
help. We can kickstart that oh-so-important activity – with our "APM 360”
bundle. APM stands for Application Performance Management and this bundle
combines multiple parts of HP’s APM software suite to enable easier ordering,
while at the same time allowing you to quickly and easily start monitoring your
applications.
One last note! There is
currently a promo on this bundle, making this more of a low cost, high value
monitoring solution for you. Talk with your HP sales rep/channel partner
to see if this might be a fit for you. But hurry, the promo ends
September 15, 2012!
Click on the following links to
learn more about the four APM products in this bundle: Business
Process Monitor (BPM), Real User Monitor (RUM), Diagnostics, and Service
Level Manager (SLM). If you have further questions about HP’s APM monitoring
products, feel free to contact me at sonja.hickey@hp.com.
You’ve created a great
app and thoroughly tested it. Are you REALLY going to throw it over the
fence and "hope” for the best?
You’ve developed a rock-solid
application. You’ve "kicked the tires” from a Q&A standpoint.
Now your application is in production. When you hand off that application to
the Ops team, do you know if they are monitoring it? Or does something go
wrong and everybody goes into "reactive” mode, meeting in "war rooms” for hours
on end to diagnose the problem?
Heck, maybe the "real” problem
is associated with the infrastructure supporting the application, yet the
finger gets pointed at you?
Stop the madness! Leverage HP’s
"APM 360” bundle, which enables your Ops team to quickly and easily start
monitoring those mission-critical applications. The bundle combines four
HP APM products - Business Process Monitor (BPM), Real
User Monitor (RUM), Diagnostics, and Service
Level Manager (SLM) – giving Ops insight into every transaction as well as the
ability to resolve issues quickly and report application performance based on
end-user experience and business metrics. And because HP’s APM products
integrate with pre-production, there is a common tool set between development
and operations, helping reduce costs.
One last note! There is
currently a promo on this bundle, making this more of a low cost, high value
monitoring solution for your Ops team. Have them talk with your HP sales
rep/channel partner to see if this might be a fit for them. But hurry,
the promo ends September 15, 2012!
The
Value of "Security Conferences"
Something to think about ... had an interesting topic come
up at the OWASP AppSec APAC here in Sydney this last week
about the value of security conferences. Now, I enjoy the talks, the
comradery, and the community around security conferences as much as the next
guy but I'm starting to believe that maybe we're doing it wrong. Read more.
